LOCATION CHANGE: Tonight’s Town Hall Forum Has Moved!
Posted on 30. Apr, 2009 by sarah.bauer.
Due to a security threat at the Carlson School/Humphrey Institute, the buildings are being closed this afternoon and evening.
Accordingly the Town Hall/Ethics Forum will take place in Murphy Hall (the journalism building), 206 Church Street, SE, room 130 (the lecture hall).
You will find parking most convenient in the Church Street Garage or the Washington Avenue Ramp.
The event will continue as planned, but in a new location. We hope to begin around 7:00 p.m.
The security threat has nothing to do with SPJ, the Silha Center, the Minnesota News Council, or any of our panelists, according to law enforcement officials.

“Fever Pitch: Does health news reporting leave consumers out in the cold?”
You are invited to join Minnesota journalists and featured speaker Gary Schwitzer for a public discussion about journalism ethics in relation to health news reporting. Gary Schwitzer is an associate professor at the University of Minnesota’s School of Journalism and Mass Communications and publisher of HealthNewsReview.org. A Q&A session will allow members of the public to ask questions pertaining to journalism ethics. The discussion will take place in Cowles Auditorium at the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs on the University of Minnesota West Bank Campus at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 30. “Fever Pitch” is part of the journalism ethics discussion series, “The Public & The Press Town Hall Meeting,” presented by the Society of Professional Journalists in 12 cities across the U.S. during the last week of April.
