MNSPJ Seeks Candidates for 2026-2027 Board of Directors

The Minnesota Society of Professional Journalists is seeking candidates to serve on the board of directors for two-year terms beginning in September 2026.

There are six open director seats that members will vote on, in addition to electing the board’s executive leadership team. Current directors are eligible to run for leadership positions. President-elect Aleesa Kuznetsov will step into the role of president this coming term.

To run for the board, you must be a current SPJ member and a member of the Minnesota chapter. If you are unsure of your membership status, please email minnesota.spj@gmail.com.

Interested individuals should submit a short professional bio and a candidate statement by Wednesday, August 12. You can find examples of those statements here.

Ballots will be distributed to the membership by Saturday, August 22. Voting will conclude on Monday, September 7.

The results will be announced at MNSPJ’s Annual Meeting on Monday, September 14. Members are encouraged to attend! Details of that meeting will be released at a later date.
