MNSPJ, U of M’s Hubbard School of Journalism/Mass Communication co-hosting event on Deliberative Journalism Project

What: The Minnesota Society of Professional Journalists and the University of Minnesota’s Hubbard School of Journalism/Mass Communication will co-host a free presentation on the Deliberative Journalism Project (DJP) at 7 p.m. Friday, July 21.

DJP is focused on improving local journalism and the local information ecosystems by helping journalists and community members come together to address shared problems more effectively. It began as a collaboration between local news outlets in Northern Colorado and the Colorado State University Center for Public Deliberation.

This presentation, led Martin Carcasson, will cover how DJP is transforming the local news ecosystem in the region and how journalists in Minnesota can use those techniques to connect to the communities they cover more effectively.

Free pizza and beverages will be available to attendees.
